Depression

Characterized by pervasive feeling of sadness, diminished interest and pleasure in almost all activity, eating and sleeping difficulties, fatigue and lose of energy, feeling of worthlessness or excessive feeling of guilt, poor concentration and decision making ability, and psychomotor agitation and irritability (mainly in children and adolescent) for all day and most of the days. In sever cases person has recurrent thoughts of death and suicidal thought.

The course of mood disorder differs widely from once-in-a-lifetime event or has multiple recurrences; it can appear either gradually or suddenly; and can either last for a few months or be a life-long disorder. In some cases depression present itself as adjustment difficulties, works related difficulties, poor decision making ability or concentration difficulties, relational difficulties, and overwhelming feelings of being stress. In either case, it needs to be diagnosed and treated properly since the symptoms are not disappearing without treatment and can worsen the person daily function and leads to disaster.
